IOB Boards (Internet of Beer Boards)

The Beer Board or IOB Board (Internet of Beer) was designed to digital display what is currently on Tap. We do this in two ways.  1. With a big screen listing draft beer options, ABV and IBU, prices and sizes. 2. Engaging the customers with smart phones, provide background of the brewery, and describe how the beer is made/brewed. On top of this, we provide a user friendly interface utilizing the power of the cloud to manage beer list in one or many locations.

One of our first  installation of our Beer boards was at CJ HighMarks in Celina, Ohio. The owner had expressed that they were having trouble keeping up with printed content for their customers. Printed material quickly got outdated because the number of keg changes of craft beer.  Craft beer is huge right now.  It seems that breweries are popping up all the time. When a keg of craft beer is finished, more than likely the same craft beer is not replaced…rather a different craft beer from a different brewery is replaced. This makes printed material hard to manage. Also, the owner found too many times customers would come up to the bar and look at the tap handles to try to figure out what was on tap. He didn’t want that. He wanted customers to be able to sit in there seat, relax and let them serve an ice cold beverage.

Smartphone Expanded Info via QR code

We also want to engage the customers with expanded  information about the beer, the brewery, a description of the contents of the beer. This unfortunately can’t all be displayed on a screen with multiple taps displayed. To achieve this, we provide a QR code that is placed on customer tables. The QR can easily be scanned from any smart phone. Below is an example of QR code tent card placed on the tables at HighMarks.

When customers scan QR code, an expanded information list will appear on there phone. Note: The QR code will never need changed, because the data referenced will reflect the database via the cloud server.

We provide an easy to use web interface to update keg changes when they occur. Users can simply login to our portal and update the various beers currently displayed on tap as well as updating information about the serving size / glass size and beer pricing. Currently, we support up to 3 sizes and 3 prices to be displayed at once.
